@Sportbike23 your right, the TBI also relieves itself of pressure unlike the 96+ trucks. no, it was my mistake in the beginning, I didn't realize he was working on a TBI truck. purge is the wrong word as it doesn't drain the line it just relieves the pressure so it dosent spray everywhere.

I only knew about that procedure from the one time I read about it and did it 8 or more years ago on my 97 Burb.

when I started to remove the fuel filter it was clearly under pressure and I started to make a big mess.

I read the procedure in the Haynes manual and it definitely helped me.

im sorry I just forgot that this truck is TBI again.... I had a 94 Burb but it ran practically perfect and I never really had to do any engine work. I guess I did swap the fuel filter as well and while that was like 12 years ago now.... I dont remember doing anything and probably did spill some fuel.
