Hey all,

Having some severe (in my estimation) slop in my driver's side CV axle mount where it connects to the diff. Makes a good amount of knocking noise when I'm diving quickly over bumpy gravel or dirt.

The passenger is a little less, but present.

I'm thinking maybe the bearings are going, but not sure.

Are these replaceable without full disassembly?

Another note is that, it seems the sound is either less or non existent when in 4x4. When i try to move the axels they're rock solid in 4x4.

IDK man maybe I'm losing it lol.

Any guidance would be appreciated!

I saved a pretty good bearing cross reference page..
When I get home I'll see if I can find it
Here's the site...I think this was my bearing...It's how I bookmarked it anyway....
It'll cross reference different manufacturers and was pretty helpful iirc....

Good question, @Schurkey, I hope not. Well, I decided I'm finally going to bite the proverbial bullet and get it overhauled.

I need to re-gear everything for 35's tires anyway.

So I have a guy that will overhaul and re-gear both the front and the rear for $3900. All I have to do is drop it off to him. It's a nice chunk of change to dish out, but not bad for peace of mind and the right gearing finally. Should open up my truck up a bit too.
