Can anybody tell me if you can flat tow a 1996 GMC Sonoma. It is 4x4 Auto w/auto transfer case.
If it over a long distance you would have to disconnect the driveshaft. The transmission would burn up (when not recirculating fluid) because when it is running the oil temp levels are controlled. I flat tow my race car still lol
Auto case has something weird you can do to it to get it into neutral so you'll be good there.
I had planned on dropping the drive shaft, but will the front axles cause a problem? This is a 4 wheel drive, will they create a problem if I leave it in 2 wheel high?
Is it something I physically need to do, or is it something that will be controlled automatically by the ECM?
Any info is Greatly appreciated..
It's in the owner's manual, I believe you press 2 buttons at once and it'll light up red or something weird on those trucks.
Will check into that. Thanks
