Isn't your transmission a 4L60 and not a 4L60e? I believe 1993 was the year of the swap over. If you have a TV cable, you have a 4L60 and controlling it is fairly easy. If you have the 4L60e you need a computer to control it.
With a 4L60 the only thing the computer does is control torque converter lockup, and even that can be replaced with a vacuum switch and a bit of wiring. I have a Holley Sniper on my truck and once I got the TV cable set up correctly it works great. I haven't replaced the computer with a switch yet, but I do have the switch on hand. The computer doesn't care that it can't communicate with the engine, it still operates the TCC just fine.
