That sure looks like an 8 gauge wire, probably left over from an aftermarket amplifier, should have absolutely nothing to do with your HVAC issue.

Makes sense previous owner had some big speakers attached and some special hunting/swamp lights under the bumperThat sure looks like an 8 gauge wire, probably left over from an aftermarket amplifier, should have absolutely nothing to do with your HVAC issue.
You were right about the ac control head being the problem. I picked one up from a junkyard but it has an extra button on the bottom mine didn’t have as many buttons, do you know if it will still work? The plug looks the same, thanksApplies to full-manual controls only... Not the electronic controller system.
Hey that AC control head worked like a charm, got my wipers fixed too needed a new wiper pulse module. Wanted to ask you if you know where I can find a wiring harness circled in red in the picture for my radio. Need that harness to finish the wiring, need both sides of the harness, can’t seem to locate it onlineThe later (92-94) models came with selectable recirculation control, that's the extra button. The older trucks used the high pressure switch on the compressor to control the recirculation option. I can't tell you that it will work 100%, but aside from the recirculation door, most of the wiring pin-outs on the modules are the same between the earlier and later models - you should still have basic control.
Got my radio and cassette player hooked up successfully, the front two speakers work but on their last legs, gonna replace them and the back two as well. My battery terminals are what was causing the electrical problem I think, going to change them, but wanted to ask what you thought of the wires, in the attached pictures. Think they need changing too or they are fine?Any 88-02 GM Truck will have the connector you need, and all you should need is the connector that plugs into the CDM.. There's no connector between the CDM and anything else. That thing circled looks like an extension harness or something for bench testing.... You shouldn't need that.
