I have a 1991 c 1500. The flange from the exhuast header to the y pipe is rusted pretty good. Therefore its not sealing good and i hear a ticking sound from it. Is there something i can do to fix this issue?

Replace the rusted flange(s)?

Not inexpensive. At least, not the way I did it on a pair of Edelbrock stainless headers.

It'll depend on how the flange is made. On mine, I had to buy a pair of split flanges on each side--one for the manifold, one for the Y-pipe on each bank.

The split flanges were $26+ each. (Less on Amazon. Search for "Split Exhaust Flange, and then find one the correct size for your pipes) Exhaust donuts were cheap--under five bucks each. I spent way over an hour just digging-out the old blown-out, burnt-up donuts so that the new ones could be installed without debris interfering with the way they seated on the pipes.
