So it's not worth putting putting headers on I want to switch to a V8 but I can't seem to find a donor from where I live. I think my truck having a Scavenging problem

I’d honestly just wait on exhaust work until you do the V8 swap. When I get done with my V8 swap on my 97, I plan on doing long tubes, 2.5” pipes all the way back, Flowmaster OG 40s and dump it after the rear axle.

I've been leaning towards H pipe, the X pipe sounds a little too modern.

Nothing beats dual side pipes with haphazard "H" pipe. Not sure how it would sound on a 4.3 but on my 5.7 its a little raspy, but my taste isnt like everyone elses. Most of my exhaust mods was "take everything off with a grinder (or sawzall) and replace it with metal i find in my garage"
