Yes, I made mine, but you can buy 1 also, but it looks like they are all for vortec trucks. You may be able to get an upper radiator hose for a 1997 vortec, and the water neck for that same engine with the threaded hole for the sensor, and swap yours to that set up, but it would cost less, and be easier to just install a spacer, and cost less too.

I changed the water pump and the alternator. Alternator is a 140 amp power something.. the water pump has a removable plug. What’s the difference there or in the water neck? I know the water pump would get the cooled down water when the engine is hot and running but it doesn’t it get to operating temp before the fans are supposed to come on anyway?

I’m trying to copy what Harris performance has on his website. Ls1 dual fans. When I try to mock it up in my garage my relay buzzes I use a pyramid regulated power supply that outputs 13.8 v

Those are some beefy looking fan motors, you could be overloading your power supply. Five amps continuous isn't much.

You might be on to something df.. I’m at the point ready to install fans on radiator and then I’ll wire it up and see... I’ll let you guys know. Can always go back to mechanical

Like I said, here is the link on mine and what I did ECT, ECT,ECT. Nine has been installed since late May. I have not had any issues with mine, after the second temp sensor. They work grate. Everything you need to know and do is in this link.

Now this is a good looking way to get a pre-thermostat sensor in there. Has anyone used one? How was quality and seal?

That's after the thermostat. Coolant is flowing out of the engine there.
