UPDATE on the truck. I ended up sort of trading the truck in on a 2018 2500 Silverado crew cab.
I never got around to the body work and thanks to northeast winters, the rockers and the cab corners ended up getting pretty rough over the past 5 years and the truck would not pass inspection in Massachusetts. I contemplated fixing the rust and just keep driving it, but I suck doing body work. Add to that the truck still was on the original motor and trans and was approaching 310K miles. More plus we (my wife really) had more kids and the extended cab was getting old real quick. The dealership would only give me $400 for the truck on trade, so I told the salesman I would rather sell privately for what I thought it was worth or part it out... Long story short, the salesman bought the truck for my asking price.
