Hey there, new to forums and seeking some advice. Looking for new spark plugs but don't know the best type to pull the trigger on. I know ACDelco is usually the best for OEM but I'm not sure if Platinum, Double Platinum, or Iridium spark plugs would be best for my engine. 1997 GMC K1500 Sierra SLT, 5.7 V8 Vortec 350. Appreciate any replies!

Regular ol copper core will last 60-70,000 miles. I've replaced them with over 100,000 miles and they were still firing fine but oh what gaps they had.
Gotcha, would it hurt to use Platinum or iridium from ACDelco? I don't mind going completely OEM with the copper core but I'm looking for something a little better quality than complete stock LOL

I use Autolites and have been in everything I own for years. My truck, my motorcycle, my 1967 John Deere riding mower and my chainsaws. They work,,,,,,,,,,period! If you think paying more for spark plugs is going to do you any good go for it. Spark plugs are a consumable, just like brake pads and oil. One tip I'll share with you is don't buy plugs with smooth insulators. Albert Champion figured out over a century ago that those little ridges effectively lengthen the surface of the insulator creating a longer path for electricity to travel. I've seen many plugs fire down the boot across those smooth insulators. Looks like a Blue Oyster Cult concert at night.

I've used the ACDelco 41-932 double platinum and the 41-993 iridium plug. Both work well and cause no issues, take your pick. The plugs are manufactured by NGK.

ACDelco 41-993 IS a NGK 5599.

ACDelco 41-932 IS a NGK 7740.

Buy whichever is cheapest.

Or buy the NGK's and pay less still!

Heard lol. Does Autolite vs. ACDelco matter or is it just a personal preference with price and such?

The last set of 41-993's that I bought were an Amazon "Warehouse Deal" part. VERY, VERY cheap. Funny enough, I ordered two boxes of four plugs, and was sent one box of 41-993's (obviously new and never opened) and a box of Motorcraft plugs that were in no shape or form correct. Contacted Amazon, they told me to keep them and sent another box... of the same Motorcrafts! I reached out, again, and finally was sent the correct 41-993's. So I still have two boxes of Motorcraft plugs for.... something.

So yeah, wherever you can find any of them at the cheapest price.

As long as the boxes aren't damaged. Drop a plug on the floor, throw it in the trash.
