I'm in the process of giving my 98 k1500 interior a facelift. I'll be painting most of the plastic trim panels black to match the body but I just dont know what to do with the ugly ass carpet at the bottom of the door panel. Mine is fairly stained and has pieces missing - looks like someone wiped their bum on the thing.

What have people done to make this look appeasing? I could try to dye it black but my instinct is to just pull the stuff off and paint what is underneath.

Carefully remove it and use it as a template to cut new carpet pieces for them. Use some 3M spray adhesive to glue them on.

I just cleaned it as best I could and painted it with SEM Color Coat.

Not perfect but it'll do. The carpet was sprayed with the same light blue as rest of the lower section. Upper is Shadow Blue and the lower is Pacific Blue.
