So I just purchased a 1994 Chevy 1500 4x4. As far as I know it had the 5.7 TBI motor. It is TBI and appears stock. I haven't tried to look at the casting numbers yet because I just discovered this oddity yesterday.

Since I just purchased it I went ahead and changed the oil. Ordered the necessary stuff from O'Reilly. Get it home and start the job and the oil filter doesn't fit. Back on O'Reilly website to see if they sent the wrong filter. Nope. They sent the one listed for my truck. WIX 51036. That filter does not fit my engine at all. It won't even thread onto it. The old filter is a Microguard 51069. It is much larger diameter. I cross referenced other places too and they all show that the 51036 filter is supposed to fit my 1994 truck. Could this just be an oddball from the start or does this sound like a motor swap?
