Those are a sub brand of GMC now..... haven't seen any around here yet, but Hot Wheels has it in yellow and metallic orange. And Matchbox has a Rivian pickup in metallic blue.So I caught this one this morning. I have seen it a couple times charging up in the area, but never caught the driver to ask about it. Michigan plates (and it's never been washed) is a tell-tale sign that this one is a test mule, and the driver is not the owner. Sure enough, talked to the driver today.
Brand new Hummer SUV, all-electric. This thing is a beast.
The guy told me his job is to drive it around all day, and charge it up multiple times, to test the truck's reaction to repeated charging and "topping off". He said the thing weighs 9400 lbsbut is rated at 1000 HP and is FAST. He has had it from the manufacturer for a couple months. He said the manufacturers like to test in the Rockies, with altitude and mountain terrain / heavy grades. Apparently he is a contractor that drives test mules for a living (how cool is that). Retired guy, looks like a truck driver.
By the way, that old-school GMT400 in the background is my red 2-door. He offered a straight-up trade, but I said no...
