I swore to myself I’d never sell her when I bought her back in 2003. But in 2018 I couldn’t afford to keep taking her to work work every day with driving 42 miles each way. I was about to lose everything so I had no choice. No one wanted to pay what this truck was worth. To everyone else it was just a 2500. I knew better, so when my brother offered me six grand for it I took it with a promise that he’d give me a chance to buy it back when he was done with it. I got a call two years later saying it was on its way to me being towed backwards on a tow truck. The rear breaks seized up. I knew what the problem was right away but he wanted something else so I got it back. He didn’t want anything for it. Just wanted to give it back because he knew it meant the world to me. When that truck dropped it off it sat in that spot for almost five years. I was still trying to get my head above water and didn’t have the money to spend. Then when I did I still left her sit there. Something in me snapped me out of it. I grabbed my work truck chained her to it and drug her out of that ditch she’s been in. Cleaned her up and she’s looking as sweet as she had when I put her there. Had a couple dings from flying objects that hurricanes threw at her but she’s clean underneath and inside. This is my K2500 extended cab short bed with the L29 4L80E one tone full floating axil with the gt4 ratio and a g80 locker push button transfer case. She’s rare and she’s mine. I’ll never let her waist away again. She’s the only truck I ever needed and the only one I ever wanted.

Here are a few I've caught recently around the Austin area.

The first one was a gem! I was kicking myself I couldn't get a better photo to post.

The Suburban was an interesting one. The two tone seemed to be made of some type of material on the top half. Snake skin maybe? Lol

As it turned the corner, I noticed the whole front end must have been wrecked. What a shame.

The final two photos were taken at one of my local scarp yards.

Poor thing looks like it got a little toasty.

While leaving Lowes, I spotted this very collectible Regular Cab Short Box. It was in the far, FAR corner of Lowes in parking lot. The driver was no where to be found. Likely a Lowes employee, in the building working. Good project shape, or better yet, a reliable daily driver.
