I have angled plugs with headers on mine. It’s tight but, if you use that DEI high temp wrap and boots, they won’t melt the plug wires

The headers I have on my truck look like they would work with angled spark plugs.

I really don't have the money for a brand new set of cylinder heads right now. I'm hoping these marketplace heads will look good. If not I'll be pulling a set from the scrap yard.

Thanks

It's all good.

Well my engine plans are going to need a lot of work to run with tbi. I have a set of 180cc Flowtek aluminum cylinder heads, but I don't really want to put them on this engine.

Could you explain counter-bore?

The engine has good oil pressure, but smokes out the tail pipe on start-up and under load.

I'm hoping to drop the new engine in and then rebuild what's in my truck currently.
What’s the reason for not wanting to run the flowtek’s yet?

Tuning. I modded an ecm to be tune-able, but I'm having problems with the ecm after modding it and I haven't had time to work on it yet.
And I don't have the tbi adapter for the different intake manifold I'd need to run

I would use those heads and spend your resources on the ecm and tune. I can send you a tbi adapter or some wedge shaped washers and you can use your tbi intake. I feel like you’re throwing money away on used tbi heads.

I'll ask around. I know there are quite a few tbi trucks at one of the local pick and pulls, so I always have that option too.

That's a dangerous price..... Have you used these before?
I've got a set on my 355 now but I haven't put it on the road yet. I bought the bare heads and built them up myself with Manley valves and Z28 springs. Look up Eric Weingartner on youtube, he does a lot with these heads. I wish I had watched his vids before I bought those Manley valves. Also look up my ol Smoky thread and you'll see what I did with my set.

X2
I went through that the first time I built my 355. I looked at 1/2 dozen sets of used heads that had problems running from cracked to beat up seats and worn out valve guides. I looked at two sets of rebuilt heads that were cracked and pinned.
A buddy fixed me up with the set of rebuilt 441's that I just tossed after putting 10,000 miles on them.
I have a set of 1.84 TBI heads that I just pulled off my 305 that look to be in decent shape, I haven't checked the guides. I know for sure they're not cracked, the engine ran good, bottom end was worn out.

Yeah, it's all good. it's good to see more members from the Pacific Northwest.

193's and I'm too tired right now to remember piston terminology so here's a pic

Looks like that block's valley is completely ready for upgrade to roller cam & roller lifters.

I dunno because I have not had those fleabay aluminum heads in my hands --- but seems those have Angled Spark Plugs --- but their (Center-Two) intake manifold bolts are Not drilled-tapped at a (TBI about 72*) angle. That shouldn't stop a clever fellow from reworking his OE TBI intake manifold to fit (with a die grinder etc).

However, dunno how those Angled-Plug heads might work with OP's OE exhaust manifolds / aftermarket headers ?

>**< Also, the fleabay ad has "notes" --- there's a note indicating offset rocker arms are needed because of its Large runners.
Oops! I didn't read down to see that they were angle plug heads. The heads I bought are straight plug and don't use offset rockers. I also noticed the valve spring seat pressures, it sucks! You want a minimum 200lbs on the seat. The Z28 springs I'm running are 300lbs on the seat at 1.74 installed height.
I think I got it right this time;

These are a little more but they include the rocker studs and guide plates, I had to buy those separately.
