Not so much a custom tool as a custom use of an existing tool.
See first two pics of spanner in very cramped (smart) engine bay and unable to exert enough force on it or slip something over it for more leverage due to proximity of small plastic fragile pipes on end of inlet manifold.

So, to gain more leverage I took a large adjustable spanner and placed it as in the photos below and used the far away end as a pivot point against the forward firewall and pushing down on the jaws end with the main part pressing down on the small spanner I got enough force to slacken the bolt.
Might be handy when working in cramped areas, using whatever's cramping you as part of the mechanism.

Not custom made, but custom modified. Got a free gently used 3 wheel engine stand from a co worker. A guy on another forum was selling 2 metal swivel castors for $8. I jumped on that deal, and converted it to a 4 wheel stand with a 2' wide wheelbase in the front. 2 of the arms that would mount an engine are missing from it. I will still have to fabricate 2 of them. Unless anybody has a couple spares of them to sell me.

I posted this elsewhere on the forum, so I should probably share here. My tubing bender kept flexing and ruining tubing, so I removed the pivot pins and rivets and replaced them with bolts, and added an additional link in the front to keep it from flexing. Works like a charm now.

I got one of those exact benders. Was bending 3/8" steel tubing with it. Only way I could keep the tube from getting crushed or kinked was to fill the tube with sandblast sand, pack it tight and cap it. Then bend it.

Old thread I started but how about some more custom made shop tools. A pair of crankshaft rests. Some cast off 2x4 pieces, and a jig saw. I'm not a woodworker by any means but these do the trick.

Got a free 3 wheeled engine buildup stand from a co worker who was moving. Some metal swivel castors popped up on another forum I am on for $20 shipped. So I snagged them up, and I had some 2" heavy gage tube at the house from another project. 3 wheeler stands and a V8 on one scares me a bit. Project 4 wheeler. It was also missing 2 of the mounting mounting arms when I got it, so I made 2 more.

China freight mechanics service cart, some steel plate and tube, and some old bed frame rails. I needed an autobody /welders cart I could put all my sheetmetal body working tools in, and my welder and bottle on, plus I needed it to fit under my work bench. Nailed it.
