i understand the L port is only for the indicator light, however the alternator is not charging.. do i need to hook the other 3 up somewhere to tell it to charge, or do i just have a faulty alternator from rock auto .. ggrrr

Just need confirmation of running the “s” to ignition 12v not constant 12. and some Videos are saying put a 470ohm resister in line with it

hook terminal "F" to 12v switched ignition.

if you have a battery charge light on the dash, hook it to terminal "L"

i recently put a 1990 squarebody suburban engine&dash harness into my 86 squarebody and this is how the alternator was wired from factory. i have a voltmeter only, NO charge light.

I don't see it in the factory wiring diagram, but I believe there's also supposed to be a diode between the alternator and the charge light.

I dint see one either in the factory 93 to 130; and unless it was internal i never seen one.

I looked at a 97 / 130d manual and didnt see it there either. But i did have a guy on youtube who sells the aftermarket plugs state the senser needs a diode
