93 k1500.. factory cruise control. say i wanted to add a cruise indicator light. Im fixing to dig into the diagram but has anyone done it before? I know the wiring comes out behind steering wheel / column , will tap into it somewhere there.

So would ign (39) go on One side, and 84 on the other, or 84 & 83 on the other side

It's doable. Do you want it to come on when you simply have the cruise button on? Or only when it is engaged? 39 (ign) will just make the light come on whenever the key is on, then go off when you turn the cruise on (or not work at all if it isn't grounded when cruise is not on). You want 84 (cruise set) or 357 (cruise system on, can't quite read it), then simply ground on the other side. I would tap into the wires where the cruise switch connects just under the dash. Should be 4 tiny wires going into a plugin clipped on under steering column cover that has 2 screws holding it on, near the ALDL port. If you decide to wire a light in, make it small; anything that draws a lot of amps could (unlikely, yet possibly) interfere with the operation of the cruise.

Thanks. some of the other indicators require ign on one side, and function on other. (Prk brk, chk engin, battrry, seat bel)

my indicators that require grnd & trigger wire are left , right, hi, 4x4, & now the cruise.

Ok. Scratch 397 also. That only lets the light stay on when cruise is on, not “set”.

83 is same as 84; will only light when “accel” or resume is pressed, doesnt stay illuminated.

39 is just constant hot .

Is there another spot i could tie in at that keeps 84 hot ? Or is it only momentary

I think “cruise on” (397) is the only wire that stays hot more than momentarily (other than ignition). Not sure there would be a way to make it stay on only when set. Every car I’ve driven that has a cruise indicator is set up with “cruise on” illuminating the light

Yea thats how my daughters colorado and wife palisade is. Well the Colorado illuminates once its set. The palisade will illuminate when cruise turned on, then the pointer will illuminate once it’s actually set.
