So i got a gmt400, worked on older small block stuff before this know them like the back of my hand. but im really having a difficult time diagnosing this i have no spark and injectors will not fire while cranking i've heard that the distributor can cause both to not function I replaced the ignition coil today still nothing. It looks to have a newish ICM in the distributor checked with test light coil and distributor both have power i unplugged the wire going from the distributor to the coil and the injectors poofed some fuel out. checked my grounds and such all seem ok. wiring isnt chewed or molested in any way. im kind of at a loss here without being able to scan obd 1.
***Edit forgot to mention that the old ICM was in the engine bay, work at a junkyard pulling distributor off a running truck tomorrow and trying it***
HUGE THANKS TO ALL YOU FELLAS I NO LONGER OWN A YARD ORNAMENT :) !! You guys are the bomb.com on here I’m sure I’ll have more questions as I go, right on time for me to leave town and go to work

I experienced a similar issue. Truck had been sitting 2 year. Problem would not start. We replaced the coil, ignition module, checked fuel pump, changed TBI, wires, testing, and head scratching. Would not start. Last Hail Mary installed a new distributor. Bingo hit the jackpot. Started but ran rough. Then changed plugs and wires still ran rough. Went back to the original TBI and it now runs perfect. We could have saved a ton of money and time just changing the distributor first. Your mileage may vary but the distributor was the culprit all along for me.

That's what's aggravating with a lot of these post, you give advise but never know if problem(s) were solved .
