Alright, I snapped a picture for you that I'll PM to you shortly!

A terminal that is switched 12V+ (Has 12V+ when the key is in the ON and ACC position) is located on the junction block as follows Chris:

Starting from the far left hand bottom corner, count 4 terminals to the right and then 1 row up. This terminal SHOULD be a switched 12V+ source, it is labeled ORNG. You should check it with a test light to verify on your particular truck, but that should be the terminal your looking for!

Awesome! will def check that location when i get some free time. Do you know of any other such terminals in the junction block? If not i can always use that one to power the aux fuse block under the hood and run power wire from the driving light switches to that and same with the power for the temp/compass mirror.

Unfortunately the info I had will not work on your truck as you are working with later OBD2 parts for a gas truck and at the time I put this thread up I was working on an older OBD1 Diesel.

I've been poking at my convenience center in my 1989 c1500 looking to add a circuit as well. It's hard to find a lot of information about it. I thought I'd post a few links here as to what I've found.

http://www.73-87chevytrucks.com/techinfo/7387CKMans/Wiring/ST_350_89_1989_GM_RV-P_Light_Trucks.pdf <-Convenience Center wiring/Fuse Panel Wiring/ etc etc etc.)

This PDF illustrates much of the wiring across various model trucks. If you have an S10 -like- convenience center with both fuses and color coded tap-in spots (not illustrated here), then the American Auto Wire Kit 500429 is a great way to tap into it. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aww-500429. On the other hand, if you've got the convenience center with male spade terminals in it, no fuses, and only relays, there's no *kits* that I can find to tap into it.

This is the illustration of what that convenience center looks like -(note I'm not sure the labeling is 100% accurate for every truck...):

This next picture illustrates where there are common connections buses behind the block. Note the block is installed 90 deg counter-clockwise from the illustration above.

You can tap into these with a female spade connector, or if you want to look oem you can hunt down these Metri-Pack part numbers:
