Quick question about cams and lifters. my shadetree mechanic understanding is that there are
mechanical flat tappet cams that use solid lifters and require periodic adjustment as well as high zinc oil
hydraulic flat tappet cams that use hydraulic lifters that use oil pressure to keep valves in adjustment? high zinc oil?
hydraulic roller cams that use roller lifters
Would the 93 4.3 tbi have the hydro flat tappet w/ hydraulic lifters? If so, do the valves need to be adjusted periodically?

Solid flat tappet cams tend to be in race-only applications. You have hydraulic flat tappet lifters. Hydraulic lifters, both flat and roller, are designed to never need adjusting. I've never adjusted valves on a small block Chevy except on an initial build.
