If I was looking to upgrade to a Hydro boost, I would see what similar platforms use, higher wt, etc. then check the service manual for what's available that year. Then I can refer to the RPO codes listed with the Part in the GMpartsGiant parts catalog. That gets you three important info parts. The data is there, in verified reference material. That gives a start point. Here's some screen shots see if it makes sense.

Update for you lads. The HD hydroboost's piston for the pushrod is about 1/4 inch less deep than non HD. This will cause your brakes to be applied while just driving lol. So you have to get a smaller pushrod. That's what I get for being cheap.

I am going to see if it's possible to swap the pistons.

You may just need a spacer. I bought a reman HB from Napa that came with a spacer. I didn't install it because my truck didn't have one, but it turns out I needed that spacer after all. I struggled to make it back from my putt putt test drive as I have some pretty aggressive shoes out back that were liking the heat getting put into them.

Alright. A final write up to close this chapter. The remanufactured Cardone HD hydroboost I got had to have been defective out the box. I ultimately ended up buying an SKP hydroboost. Brakes are good. They aren't catching anymore and my issue with not being able to bleed the rears/brake safety switch closing has been resolved. I am left scratching my head because the HD and non-HD hydroboost are identical in anyway I can compare them. The pistons are the same size, the rod in the back is the same length, the entire housing is identical. I have no clue why the HD one was stuck half an inch out. The SKP one is a 3rd party, not a remanufacture. It seems pretty well built. I went on a 40 mile drive today with no issues. Cardone remanufactured hydroboost might just be junk.
