My 1998 Tahoe 4dr 4wd came with the vinyl/leather bucket seats with center console, and I bought some 60/40 cloth seats from a junkyard that are from a 1996 1500 Extended Cab (not sure if C or K) that I would like to swap in. I was aware that new holes would be needed to the inner bracket on the 60 side, where the center console previously was, but I was surprised that the distance (front to back) of the outer bracket on the passenger side is different from the bucket seats. When lining the seats up, should I line up the front or rear holes on the bracket with the existing mounting holes? I looks like from the contour of the floor that it's the rear points that match up, but I'm hoping to find someone who is more familiar with this swap

I have the pieces here to do this swap in the spring. I was under the impression that moving the 13.5 x 13.5 (holes) base from the passenger bucket to the passenger 40 solved that problem.

I did, and I'm very happy with it. I prefer these over my stock buckets by a lot. I didn't do the work myself, but it lined up and only needed one extra backing plate (https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecID=28535) to bolt in.
Thanks for the link. I’m going to attempt to replace buckets with 60/40, 1999 Suburban to 1999 Suburban. I figured it would be a straightforward swap until I came across your thread. I’m going save the rest of my questions until I’m looking at it.
Thanks for your help!
