She's on the road!

Well, sort of. Me and my buddy took it for it's first drive outside of the farm in almost 4 years, and aside from the truck loosing fuel pressure once on the way back to his farm, the truck drives great!
I still have a bunch of loose ends to tie up still, but we're still going in the right direction. I'm calling a dude Monday about a parts truck for this rig to get it finished up and fully on the road!

Well, life is getting in the way when it comes to this truck. Wife's car needed new tires, had a vet trip for the dog, dishwasher died.
But I'm still crawling little by little. Got the fuel pump replaced, still need to fix the passenger side door jamb switch to get the power draw sorted out. Those are the simpler things I can knock out though, there's still a big list before this truck is fully roadworthy, but it'll get there soon enough.

Also threw a decal on the back, since it needs some personality I figured I'd dig in my sticker stash. I really need to clean the rest of the back glass now....

Lol, I also cleaned PART of my back glass inside and out so it was easier to see the license plate I stuck in the back window! A good nickname for my truck (except under the hood) would be Pig-Pen. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pig-Pen
That was the name of my buddies old 2003 7.3L; it was owned by a local drive-thru zoo/ranch and they used that truck HARD.
Glass is always one of those things that frustrates me to no end cleaning trucks and cars, it's always just as soon as I get it crystal clear something smudges it.

It's home, I was hoping to have gotten at least a few things taken care of, but with my K2500 acting up, an emergency vet trip today, and my wife having covid, it's going to sit for a couple days.
I hope to at least wash it and clean it up a bit tomorrow after work, I'm going to take the alternator off the red truck down to get tested, while I'm at NAPA I'll see if they can make me a couple of fresh battery cables since these are absolutely garbage.

A couple issues right off hand, a random clunking sound on the front of the motor after I shut the truck off; it's not a rotating assembly or engine internal knock, but it's almost like something on the accessory drive is locking up or is loose, fan clutch maybe? Any 6.5L gurus ever dealt with anything like that?
Second issue is the passenger side door switch, in an attempt to fight my battery draw (lights staying on, glove box light and interior light would run the batteries down after a couple of days) I broke the existing switch and it fell in the dash. I can pull the glove box out and reach up behind everything and grab it, but it's almost impossible to get it back through the hole, any tips there? Is the airbag delete cuddy removable with enough room to reach that plug?

No pics since I was busy helping my friend haul cars this weekend; but grabbed a new set of batteries. The old reman batteries I had bit the dust so I snagged two new DieHards.
So far so good, it's cranking super strong now; I think those old batteries weren't enough to begin with. My buddy also swapped on the new tires this weekend as well, so now I owe him some beer and spicy food.

Hoping to bring the truck home in the next week or so, I've got a list of stuff that needs to be done before it's roadworthy. Shouldn't be too hard to get it shaped up though.

I should also add, May 14th marked a year that my brother and I saved this truck from the junkyard. Truth be told, I was hoping to have it on the road and driving by now but buying a house and planning for a wedding sure does eat up a lot of time!
That’s an understatement

Had to pull this thing around so I could clean the yard up some and rearrange my building a bit. Managed to get the jamb switch replaced, THAT was a nightmare, I wound up having to break up the old switch in order to get to the plug. Got it all cleaned up and got the new switch in. Batteries are dead, so I'm not sure if this was the source of the power draw. Going to try and order up a battery cable kit and a couple new batteries in the next couple of weeks.

And just when I think I'm finally going to be able to get the interior put back together, I think I broke something on the glovebox. It just wants to fall out every time I go to open it now.
