The title "best harmonic balancer to replace old one" conflicts with "good budget balancer around 100$" --- which is it? Best or Low-budget ?

Will this rotating assembly be professionally dynamic balanced ?

Is the crank made of forged steel or cast iron ?
Bone stock 4 bolt main rotating assembly, but people say there good for up to 850 hp before they blew up. And im sure anything is better than a stock balancer but i could be wrong.
You have money for a turbo, aluminum heads, and aftermarket EFI, but you wanna cheap-out on the rotating assembly?
well i did build the heads for 500$ and it was a 100$ chinse turbo. And i bought stuff throughout a couple years before i tried to turbo a tbi, i was planning on turboing a 350 that would go in a nova but plans changed. I got the efi when it was a deal. And im doing all this while the block is in the truck. I do try so save money, I know there will be trade offs by being cheap. When things break they might be more catastrophic with cheap stuff.

Wishful thinking--VERY wishful thinking without forged crank, aftermarket rods 'n' pistons, main studs, etc.

Frankly, I don't think an OEM block will take it without breaking the main webs.

Of course, it's the Ford 302s that are infamous for splitting down the middle.

Well im shooting for 550-600 hp. Possibly maxing out the efi killshot. And i thought 650 was the absolute max with pump gas with boost on a sbc if everything is well pared. I wont instantly shoot for big ponies. Ill start out small. And i mean i was pushing 15 psi at 5500 rpm with the tbi and it ran pretty good I thought, good afrs, no blow by, i think no detonation, hard to tell because i hood stacked it and it was loud. I put in a walbro 450 for all the fuel i need. And the nv4500 is rebuilt with maybe 15k miles also on the clutch. The only thing i worry about is blowing up my diff. I plan to do a 14 bolt some day.

WAG: as conceived, and apparently with budget alone being guiding beacon/lowest common denominator; this project's unlikely to end well (if, at all). Seems a reality check's overdue. just sayin'

Why are yall so pessimistic? Im 19 yo in college with a part time job so its gonna be budget. I think this is pretty attainable according to everything online. Yeah 500-600 hp is still pushing the limits, but most time its tuning that kills stuff so with the tuning abilities of the efi it should live a while. And damn im not gonna be hot rodding the thing everywhere, it’ll rarely see 6k rpm. Yeah shi t breaks and i can rebuild it but i only live once and im gonna have fun. And if it breaks as quickly and unforgivingly as you guys think then ill be wiser BUT im pretty certain it’ll live to tell its tale. Ill have it done in a couple weeks and ill prove you boneheads wrong.

"everything online" ?
Young man, more than just a few of us here were actually doing this hands-on work before DARPA's ARPANET first connected.
And, in doing so, some have also come to KNOW a thing or two. Good luck with both; your formal education and your project.:sleepy:

I believe what the man is saying is being there and doing that stacks up way more than reading it on the interweb. We all understand a budget but instead of wasting your time and money half assing it. Give us the money or do it right the 1st time. Your decision. As you said your in school and will some day make a fortune but wasting money is going to slow you down.
