I work in the aircraft industry. Logistics track or L track is aircraft seat track. The truck I installed this in is not a GMT400 , it's my new ford maverick, however the idea and suppliers was so cool I want to share with you.

The company I purchased from is www.cargoequipmentcorp.com. . This track comes as drilled or undrilled. I opted for undrilled. The pieces I used are 46" surface mount which I would recommend for any truck bed floor. The maverick had pre drilled and tapped holes on the sides for me to use which made the job easier in one way, but harder in that I had to precision measure and drill so it was a bolt on.

All types and styles of L track tiedowns are all over the place on ebay. The loops I used were $25 for 10. L track is typically made from 6061-T6 aluminum which is insanely strong. From what I understand its failure rated to 2,000 lbs. Will I ever use this setup in this little truck? Maybe, maybe not. But it was fun to make, and now I am considering getting two 96" long undrilled tracks to install In ole Betsy.

The nice thing about floor mounting them between the bed floor raised ribs is when you dont have anything in the truck to haul, you simply pop out the tiedowns for storage and the track is somewhat flush.

Lug hole spacing is standard at 1" hole to hole. The hole diameters are 3/4". I would recommend stainless steel fasteners. I used 90° countersunk torx from www.belmetric.com. . Due to space considerations on the maverick, I made my own endcaps from .040" stainless steel. However with more room like in a GMT400 floor, there's nice black plastic track end caps available for the surface mount tracks.

Hope this helps
Matt

That’s really cool!! I was just looking at something similar at the local tractor supply.
