Barn door latch mechanism pic.... interior release mod

Wondering if anyone has their barn door interior panel off.... to take a look at the latch mechanism & take pic.

I don't want to remove mine until I can get new retaining clips to replace it.

Anyway, I'm thinking of trying to put a release on the inside of the door. ....

We, in the Jeep Wrangler community, did this when the oversized spare tire would block access to the exterior door latch/handle.

We simply added an extension to the existing linkage that hung down through a slot we cut in the plastic latch cover (I added a key ring for better finger access).

Hoping to do something similar to the '95 'Burb.

This is a very good idea! I've wondered if it could be done. I haven't pulled the panels off my truck's barn doors yet, but when I get around to replacing the rear speakers, I might look into this.

Have you given this project a GO? I'm building mine into a camper and this is pretty high on my list.
