Let me introduce the issue, I am looking to buy a vehicle, 1995 Chevrolet K1500, regular cab, 4x4 (of course), 5.7 (350), that lost reverse. I found a transmission from 1995 because I'm aware of the changes in the years due to the sticked post about the issue. Though the transmission comes from a 1995 Chevrolet S10 Blazer. Would this still work? I would plan to change the torque converter. Would the bolt in and hook up with no modifications?

If the engine in the S10 is a small displacement inline 4 or V6 then no, it wont. Post a picture of the front of the transmission you're thinking of buying and ill let you know if it will work.

Otherwise, simply rebuild your existing trans (or have it rebuilt by a competent shop) - this way you dont have to worry about it for a long time.
