I left the neutral safety switch plugged in and turned the selector to be in park, and then just secured it up. This way if I want to put the auto back in it’s all ready to go.
I also had to change to connector for the transfer case
My 95, the computer for an auto has different plugs and will not interchange with a manual computer of the same year. I’m not sure if this will be the same in your case

I know this is old but worth a shot my neutral safety switch doesn’t have two purple wires. Just one.
