I'm trying to remove the antenna on my 1996 Yukon, but the nut is being difficult. I've tried placing a slotted screwdriver in a notch and tapping with a hammer, but not luck. All I got was a chipped edge on the retaining nut.

What size Lisle antenna socket is needed on these trucks? I don't see a need to purchase the entire set.

The instruction sheet on this page:
https://www.lislecorp.com/specialty-tools/antenna-nut-socket-set/

PDF instruction sheet.

Is a little vague.
GMT400 C/K 89-90 : #2
GM 1977 - current : #3

Anybody know for sure?
thx

I'm not sure you can purchase "one" outside the set. I have a lisle set along with a Matco set and it gets me through 98% of what I get involved in. You could always try the chew it up with vice-grips routine if the proper tools are too costly.

If you eff it up I'm sure they're not prohibitively expensive to replace.
a little spray bomb black @5ft. nobody would notice. lol

It's not like I haven't had to put vice-grips or channel locks on a few along the way and had to touch-up the retaining nut.Might as well hit the chalky looking base at that point.

They're sold individually:

I asked Lisle and they sent specs for the #2 and #3 sockets.

Looking at the dimensions on the GMT400 looks like a #2.
