Finally got the new-to-me ‘95 on a trailer and made the 7 hour drive home with it today. Here’s how it sat for the past twelve years. I did put some air in the four flat tires before pictures. I’m hoping that I can get it running this week. Fingers crossed.

Clean outside, share more pics when you get a chance.
amd being 95, there are one off parts like the hvac controls are 95 only, the lower dash panel with the actual ashtray is 95 only, the upper dash with the cup holders in front of passenger, and I’m sure there is more. Last year of tbi too.

Truck was bought new by my daughter’s fiancé. Only thing besides tires and oil changes he did in his 16 years of driving it was to replace a faulty alternator. Truck is otherwise untouched.

He has zero mechanical aptitude. In 2011 it started hesitating on acceleration so he stopped driving it while waiting for a friend to fix it for him. The friend left the area and the truck never moved again. A few years ago someone broke into it and broke the steering column shroud off then took pliers to the ignition key switch.

I suspect that his problem was no more than a weak fuel pump or filter. I’m dropping the tank to clean out the fuel system and putting a new battery in to see if I get lucky. But all fluids, filters, tires, belts, and hoses will be replaced before it hits the road again. Hopefully this week.

My plan is to daily this for a very long time.

Looks like a very nice truck and a good start for a project. Only thing bad about the '95 models, is as pointed out, they have many parts that are unique to that year. Pluses are that it's still obd 1 and TBI so that's simpler, and the interior parts that aren't unique, are shared with the later trucks and SUVs.
And it's always neat to have a family connection or story on a vehicle.

It’s off the trailer parked inside. Let the cleaning and repairs begin. New battery yesterday and after confirming that all fluids were up I tried a quick crank. Spun smoothly but no fuel pressure. I’ve got a new fuel pump assembly and filter. Today the tank comes down and the fuel system gets a complete cleaning.

You are very lucky. Vehicles that sit for any length of time here disappear into the ground. I bought a truck from S Carolina that you could still see the spray painted pn on the rear springs and in 5 years it had rust holes. The block was even shedding layers of cast iron

Yeah… living in the S-W has its advantages. When I was living in ABQ I knew a guy who pushed his car down a hill when he was drafted in the late 60’s. In the late 90’s he thought about it and went to find it. It was still there and mostly intact. He had it towed home and was driving it again about five years later.
