Hey guys. My truck has a 105 amp cs130 currently and I am wondering if it's enough or if I should upgrade to a 140 amp cs144 or if that is even enough?
my 88k1500 is striped of the electrical fuel pump and the ECU. So that draw is no longer there. Power windows and locks are also gone.the stock cassette player has been replaced by cd player.
I have added dual batterys 1000 cranking amps.
Now has electric cooling fan. Also added 6 50w lights,cb radio. Also 1500w power inverter. And planing a viair compressor.

Thanks.

Honestly that sounds like you have plenty of charging power there. Especially with minimal draw. Maybe up it to a 140 but remember that your wires will only hold up to so much.

Look at swapping to an AD style alternator if you are going to upgrade. Much more dependable.

Thanks guys. I did up the size of wire coming from the back of my alternator. And have 1 going to both battery's.

I was thinking of using a powermaster cs130d alt that has 150 amps so there would be no fit or belt issues.

I was thinking about that also. But I have been reading that the smaller cs130 is bad to heat up. And cause the rear bering to freeze up.

Factory alternator for a NBS or 5.3 trailblazer/envoy. Change the belt if needed. Run a couple new wires. Done.

If you want 140 amps or more go with the CS144 or AD244 alternators. They fit the same mounts as CS130 and Ds, just need a belt change which probably isn't a bad idea anyway.
