On my K2500 I run 36 psi. It drives and rides fine. Be careful of lower pressures on the highway due to heat buildup. I have always heard that tire failure is more common with low pressure than with high pressure. If I have to check the pressure while on the road I check all tires and adjust all to the average 40+ psi that I find. When I get home or stop overnight and the tires are cool I set the pressure to 36.
