although CP's catalog is geared primarily to racing & particularly CT --- it does offer several pans which might suit your 4x4 needs. All CP pans are high quality; most include a windage tray. Don't overlook those OE pans that have a pretty good tray with accompanying OE cap bolt-studs.
No pan is much good without correct, matched pickup screen; all later OE sbc pumps have larger 3/4" OD tube-inlet.

Champs CP50LTRB is a solid 1.5" too long to clear the crossmember and the CP60LTRB T shape sump does not clear the 2wd oil cooler and stock length filter. It would be nice if they made a pan similar to the Milodon 31168 but with a larger sump. Then again I could have used the Milodon 31145 design on my 97 Express if they had made one for a 1-piece rear seal block. I needed a ~7-8qt pan for an 8" pickup that has a sump rise before 11.5" from the center of the rear mounting studs forward to no more than 7" depth. The CP50LTRB was close but will not fit. Nobody seems to make a pan that will fit the later block, the truck crossmember, retain the oil cooler, and that has a full length tray, a windage kickout, dipstick provision, 8" pickup depth, and added oil capacity except Milodon 31168. Paid half price for one new in box and it is on the way to me. Still a 5qt pan but with the windage improvements should help ensure plenty of oil returns to the pan.

Only changing pans because the 5qt Dorman pan is junk and is about to be off anyway.

The L31 in the G-van has a T-style sump pan and oil cooler, but I used a thinner Hayden adapter and a short 90s LT1 Camaro filter. Only used that pan on that engine because I had it sitting on the shelf after I realized the OE cooler adapter would not fit on the 383. The short piggy back cooler adapter and Camaro filtet just clear the T-sump kickout on that 7qt pan.

Thanks, I had a custom pan made for my Buick as there wasn’t one in existence to work with my 1” thick block girdle holding the mains in. Really nice pan but it was close to $1000

So if Summit typically gets about $600 for Milodon 31168.
But, if you paid about $300; that'd be good value for the Only pan in the world having all the bells & whistles; that'll fit.
If it's the right pan for the job.
Seems Milodon 31168 is engineered & designed as a Drag Race Pan. JMO, but the typical DRAG Baffling / Doors / Runners may not be ideal for usage Other than Drag (straight-line acceleration). Perhaps --- stinkin' Engineers.

I dunno, I think a drag race pan would be fine for all types of driving except something like auto cross maybe. There is HP in having a good oil pan with windage screens and baffles. I may try to buy a pan locally so that I can return it if it doesn’t fit.

Depending on budget; oil pans made for Autocross AND for Road Race have (some or all) Baffling / Doors / Runners / Windage trays-screens too ---
BUT Doors & Runners are configured Differently than for Drag Race; and as ya might imagine, they function differently as well.

When I was not as experienced as I've hence become, I once chose a T-sump Drag pan for Street-Autocross C3 --- a selection driven primarily by budget & ignorance --- would not do that Nor recommend that today --- no more than I'd recommend a Left-turn CT pan for a street rod --- no matter if it were a stellar buy.

L31's use of Milodon 31168 Drag pan will probably work out OK. He's unlikely to see any gain from its right-side kickout (aka "power pocket") at pan rail; perhaps he won't sling heavy van hard right or left enough to benefit from R&L Doors & associated Sump extensions. Panic stops may (or may not) be another kettle of fish (I have not inspected guts of a 31168 pan). Dang, (depending on individual application & budget) dry-sump looking more and more beneficial.
