Got my instrument reprogrammed and the guy did the LED conversion. I had actually found an 2500 instrument cluster with the transmission temperature guage, so that's the one I swapped.

Had some issues with guages not working and a battery/security/low fuel on the little message center display, but I finally figured out that's because I had removed the little "comb" on some splice pack. All guages work now.

I bought an AC kit from RA. I need to take to my mechanic. Driving w/o AC around here in the summer kinda sucks.

LED conversion looks good at night. $30 for that doesn't seem too bad.

I also changed the transmission lever. The orange wire breaks and the Tow/Haul button stops working. Just one of those few little items that I had neglected...

But truck started running rich on both banks. LTFT hover around 11% both banks. I couldn't see what was causing this. It was running fine before...darn.

that's strange, i'm sure you can sort out, MAF, MAP would be common to both banks.
Thank you. Yes, both seemed reading pretty normal. I even swapped the MAF from my 6.0 project suburban, but that wasn't it. I need to go back to the basics... diagnostician, if you will, LOL.

Kinda went back to where I started on this thread (and when I joined the website) and it's hard to believe how much I've learned... website is awesome for sharing information and learning.

I finally dropped off the truck at my mechanic to get the AC system going. I had messed with it over last week and could not figure it out. I posted the question at PT.net and I "think" a member figured it out:

Got my AC fixed! Looks like my mechanic didn't bother to put that little foil insulation jacket on the dryer. Oh well.

AC stuff is easy! Just see my flipper dually thread. It's a mish mash of junkyard parts and blows 40 degrees.

Well, I'm off this week from work and got bored of watching TV all day doing nothing. Last week I hooked up a window AC in my garage, so...

I decided to tear into that burned up tranmission. I haven't found any busted or blown parts yet. Need to take the subassemblies apart still.

Only problem I see is rust on the outside of the forward drum.

Ok, I think I'll just continue on this thread on the tranny rebuild. So I went through mostly everything and I don't see the typical bushing wear these units are prone to. The bushings look like they are in really good shape. The outside of the forward drum has some rust and that's where I found the clutches burned up. I was thinking hitting the outside surface with a Roloc Scotch Brite on my die grinder and seeing what that does, otherwise replacing it.

The rest of the clutches I can still read the Borg Warner part numbers, which I find remarkable. The pump gear, stator and body look all look excellent...

Not sure what direction to go with this thing... maybe build it as a 4x4 for my K3500? K3500 is a 2000 model, so it's a front lube style, I'm sure. It's got that annoying engine stall when cold in reverse. I looked up the service manual pdf for the Humvee on the same unit and it said to check something for being frozen, I don't recall what at the moment...

Keep it as a 2wd for this truck on the thread or a future Express van I've been looking for a family hauler/vacation rig?

Oklahoma Transmission Supply likely sells the clutches and steels individually if you just want to replace the ones that are burnt. Their parts are cheaper than RockAuto and when I've been there their counter guys were pretty knowledgeable. They sell all the upgrades as well.

So, you have a second truck that needs a transmission? I think I'd get this one running and back in the existing truck before taking the transmission out of the other truck, unless you have a third truck. If so, a round robin isn't a terrible idea.
