Sorry, somehow my notifications for this thread got turned off, and I haven't logged on lately!

It feels great now! The response was very sluggish before, but now it is HOT! I just had some diesel gauges installed and I have verified that my boost is never exceeding 10PSI. I also did the Heath performance tune at the same time, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it too.

Great job on the build. How does the vacuum pump delete with the mechanical wastegate feel? Was yours bad previously? Mine is still working so I'm not sure if I want to do it but since I am planning to get it tuned, I have to decide now.

Here are some photos of the almost-completed project.

Work completed so far:
  • Mechanical work outlined in previous posts
  • Repaint in factory white
  • Powder coat factory bumpers, as well as a grill guard that I got off a 95 1/2 ton which he said was OEM
  • Replace original W/T interior with captains chairs in front from donor (incl factory heated seat option)
  • Recover all seats with new leather
  • New carpet, factory color
  • Repaint door panels and dash factory color
  • New double DIN dash panel
  • Touchscreen stereo head with backup cam and XM
  • New speakers and subwoofer
  • Redarc trailer brake controller
  • New amber fog lights with dash-mounted switch
  • New smoke taillights
  • New smoke rooftop marker/clearance lights
  • New towing mirrors (non-powered), which I DON'T like....
  • New custom made center console
  • New 12v plugs on front and back of console
  • 6" Rough Country suspension lift
  • Yokohama Geolandar X-AT 35" tires
  • Pro Comp Series 51 Rock Crawler steel wheels
Still need to do:
    • Install leather wrapped steering wheel with radio controls (already purchased)
    • New rear bumper with swing out tire carrier
    • Step rails/rock sliders on side. This thing is hard to step into!!

Wow That looks incredible! How's the RC kit ride? Are you using the rough country shocks?

Also, how was that carpet install? I just did my ccsb new carpet and it was a chore. Cant imagine a burb!

Also my reco is to skip the re-wrap of the wheel. Just do a upper steering shaft swap and throw in a late model steering wheel.
