Remember when I traded this Burb for an '86 Burb? Well in the time the guy owned it, that was a mod he did as he told me the stock brake lights wern't working despite the fact they seem to work now.

So I'm basically saying that I don't know.
Okay thanks! I'll have to do some research then.

I got the truck in epoxy primer, and I got to say that the bodywork turned out better than I thought it would.

I also scuffed the door with 800 since I' going to blend it (I don't care too much about the bottom matching).

It still needs some more work, but I put way more epoxy down than was necessary, so I think I got enough room to block it without repriming (probably not).

Anyways, I might have this thing painted next week.

That is pretty cool about the keys!
Where did you get the auxiliary flashing lights on the rear pillars? I'm thinking about something similar on my Burb, for when I have to be parked, loading and unloading in the street.
They look like general clearance lights to me, Amazon should have some.

I got it blocked out to 400, and the blend area in 800. I'm going to be using a water based basecoat (thats what they're giving me).

I'm going to have this thing painted tomorrow one way or another. I've never used water based paint before, so I don't know how this will turn out.

They told me that 400 is all I need before the sealer, but if I wern't using sealer, I'd have to have it in 800.

So I ran out to time/paint today.

I got the sealer/basecoat on, but it needs at least another coat as well as to be cleared.

I guess I'm leaving it here tonight and finishing it in the morning.

The 'Ol Burban is ready for SEMA.

The clear layer out really nice, though some dust got into it.

And I did get one run. At the top of the door.

But all that will buff out, and the color match is absolutely perfect.

I even swapped out the GMC badge on the rear with the Chevy one.

I plan to put the other rear door on next week, and I also need to spray can the frame/wheel wells again.

Last thing I need to do is wet sand the clear, but that'll be at a later date.

One last thing, what do you guys think of those chrome lower door things you see around? They look tacky on newer trucks, but I really dig them on gmt400's?

I don't live in the rust belt, but I've heard those are magnets for rusting under them....

I think that they look ok but once you've had to remove one, you will never want to install another...

I like the stainless rocker panel trim, get the ICI brand, the other Amazon brands (Tyger/MaxMate, etc.) will rust within a week of calcium chloride touching it. Was not fun polishing it in single digit weather!
