Grounded out the purple wire on the connector to a working security box after doing a quick relearn, and yes the light worked before I did the bypass and now it hasn’t came on since

If this is basically the same method I'm thinking of... IIRC you'll need to re-do it every time the battery is disconnected or gets low. The resistor/relearn method should be more reliable, but the only way to truly disable the PassLock system is in the PCM tune.

I’ll have to look into a tune then, truck won’t start still after trying the bypass method again

Could you perhaps link me a cheap tune for it to be bypassed?

Resistor bypass method: (cheap, but not what I would recommend personally. Fools the PassLock system into working)

Mail order tune from Black Bear Performance: ($300, but the only way to truly disable PassLock. Plus you get several other benefits and free re-tunes for life if you want to change something)

You may be able to find someone to disable PassLock in the tune locally for cheaper if you have any speed shops around. You'd be looking for someone with EFILive, HPTuners, or JET DST/TunerCat.

If it is a security system issue, I found 2 trucks that had lost power going to the Power Steering/security fuse I jumped power to the fuse and it worked. I have no idea why there is a fuse for the power steering, but got 2 trucks started like that.

That's what I had to do in 2019 when passlock acted up on the Burb. I didn't want to hack into the column and wiring harness, and all of the "relearn procedures" didn't consistently work. Cost me $250, no idea what program they used.
