You don't have to pull the whole dash on these. There's a cover on the very bottom of the HVAC assembly with a couple bolts to get access to the core.

Chilton's says it a 4 hour job.
Pfffttt! Figure under a couple of hours to get the job done.
There's several screws around the plastic cover. 6mm? 8mm?
The hardest one to get at is the one on the bottom side of the cover, over top of the trans tunnel.
I never replace that PitA. There's enough of the others to hold it in place.
Make sure to not forget that piece of foam that the H/core sits on inside the box.

Be careful removing the cover as it can be easy to break. Last time I did mine, I broke it after having changed it several times before.

This can give you an idea of where all the screws are, especially the hidden ones. This is the HVAC box with the heater core cover and core removed, but circled are where the screws go.

Just take your time making sure you get all the screws. There's a couple you can't see and have to feel for them took me about a half hour to do mine.
