The calculator said my fastest pass on 3/20 would have been 14.98 at 91 mph at sea level, and the fastest pass on 3/27 would have been 14.75 at 91 mph at sea level.

Drivin' the race truck to & from the track. No trailer! Cool.
Like the time slips. Looking forward to seeing how it does with the upgrades.

I see racers referring to the calculator all the time. Never had to use the it. Never even had the need to look it up.
The local track is at sea level. Well...about as close as possible.
24' above to be exact. Nice dense air.
NHRA sanctioned 1/4 mile.
Beside a major river...where drag boats have run mid/low 7 second 1/4's. Someone will run a 6.9 at least once a year.
Lotsa other types of racing. Moto-X, road course, drifting, go-karts.

45 minute drive away. Even with gas @ $6-$7/gallon around here, I'd still drive that on a set of 4.11's. I don't know about the 4.56's. That'd be gettin' kinda thirsty. This abnormally large right foot wouldn't be helping any, either.

The only prob with the track. Racing is east to west.
Sunsets can make the tree hard to see.

Truck was back up and running with my new 408/4L80e drivetrain combination.

I'm really happy with how it sounds, and love the way it drives with the Circle D 245mm converter. She's snappy.

Unfortunately, I hit a bump in the road just perfectly on the first drive to put a hole in the stock truck oil pan without realizing it. I drove a couple miles home not realizing it had no oil, and the engine was knocking a bit when I pulled in the garage. I've started disassembly already, and will be taking the short block back to Mike Lough to go through it and make necessary repairs. Hopefully he gets it done quick enough to race before the end of the year. The knock wasn't loud and the engine still turns by hand, so I'm hopeful new bearings and light machine work will be the extent of the repairs.

My lesson of the day: stock truck oil pans and C1500's lowered 5/7 don't mix.

That sucks. I've noticed that it sticks way below the cross member on my swap. It's not lowered, but now you have me worried.

What pan are you going to run?

Summit racing sells a pan that looks promising. Looks alot like the holley pans, and it holds 6 quarts, like the stock truck pan. SUM-121200

I'm glad it happened when it did, because I drive this thing all over the place. Roads here in the midwest aren't great. It would've happened eventually. Glad it happened just 2 miles from home, I just wish I had noticed the oil trail behind me.
