Just wanted to update, I finally took my truck in to have this looked at along with some other small stuff. It was a crack in the handle that wasn't visible without taking the door panel off, just like several of you guys suggested. They dropped in the new ACDelco interior handle assembly I bought and it works great.
Unfortunately the tech who put my door panel back on left a speaker wire dangling between the speaker and the grille so I'm taking it back in a few days, but it is nice to be able to open the door without rolling the window down again!
