Might be the intake air temp sensor. how does it run when its fully warmed up?

if it starts in the cold then it would most likely go to “high idle” and stay at 2500 rpm’s and not come back down

and thats only in the cold? hows the drive ability of the vehicle? in the summer or when its at full operating tempature

it runs great in the summer starts everytime no hesitation
