I would like to put a 95+ cluster in Frank my 92 K3500 because I like the layout better. Is this doable with selling a kidney and sacrificing a goat at the full moon?

If it's just re-pinning the connector I can handle that. If I have to re-jumper the DRAC/VSSB I'm game.

Are the widths and the connector location compatible?

Enquiring minds want to know!

Thanks in advance,

Frank Enstein

It's been done before. I'm inclined to thinking that the firewall connections won't shoot you in the foot. You'll probably want a 95 only cluster.

Just the cluster? There are some threads on here about doing a dash swap from pre 95 to a 95 dash. Really any of the dashes 95 up are the same with the exception of the air bag, but the instrument cluster from a 95 is the only one that will fit in a pre 95 because the 95 is the last year of OBD1. In 96 up, they were all OBD2 so the ECM and the controls were different.

95 was also the single year of the new style dash on the older TBI stuff.

The 92-99 clusters all electrically run the same way, and all of the 95+ clusters (sans diesel) are the same (with the exception of the 110-120-130mph clusters). I'm running a 94 cluster in my 97 with a 2002 PCM and everything works the same as it did with my 97 and Escy clusters. But the 95+ clusters are quite a bit wider than the 92-94 clusters, so getting it to fit is going to be the fun part unless you're swapping the entire dash.
