Could it be the alternator warning light? Often alternators are referred to as "gen"erators, so maybe that's what it is.

doubt that; as I have a battery indicator; (but no wiring diagram showing where its illuminated from tho)

baffles me, also crazy thing but on my truck the ”b” 852 abs is in the “a” spot, and the “c” 419 check engine is in the “b“ spot.

From my Haynes manual

The voltage gauge will usually get power from the "ignition" wire. So my guess would be it will cause the "battery" light to come on during startup.

If i was wantig to keep that light for startup / should problem arise with it, other than +12v 39 ign wire, what would be the other trigger wire?

The battery light.

Not check engine, i know where that module is. Just gotta determine what kind of relay i need to hook up to light it.

Fwiw; this is still at least a year out as i will be buying gauges as i get spare truck money.. Rite now 100% of spare funds will be going to hunting season , its that time of year for me.

and im getting an odometer from @ someotherguy to get me thru for at least the next 6 months.

but my plan is to build my own cluster. i cant spend the almost 1k to get one, so i can buy as i want to. And design it exactly how I’m wanting. Should be doable for around 400 if my math has added up.
