I think the aluma duals would look sweet on the lbz. Thats a killer find though, in for the new build.
Well I do have a second set of them as well....
Sounds like my summer. Last I checked I pull down 5.5 mpg NA with my monstrosity. I've long wanted a Dmax but the 25-30k pill is a tough one to swallow. Not to mention the few more Grand that you have to bleed out for all the Torklift crap. The Fox should be an easy sell.
Yeah. Torklift has a lot of my money between camper tie downs, derringers, supertruss and glowsteps.... Lucky for me they are local but even still... the prices are nuts.
I am glad this truck was edging 13MPG with the full setup... Almost twice the black fox.
Congrats on the new truck, that looks clean! Those earlier trucks seem to last forever and still sell for a premium.
I'm in the same boat, i've been eyeing some dmaxes as well. My towing maxes out my dually and is seriously limiting my 5th wheel options.
Sorry to hear about your great uncle, rest in peace.
Yup, that is where I was at. Thanks for the sentiment.
I vote hard yes on the Welds going to the 800; and an even harder yes to the Whipple on the 88. And I didn't realize how mint that Duramax was, and with that low of mileage I don't blame you for snatching it up.
I'm gonna be sad when this thing is gone, it's inspired me with my 96 so much, same as your 99 6.5 did.
I guess I might have a hunch to what the ticking is in my truck now though. How violent was the ticking?
The ticking started quiet and got louder, sounded like an exhaust leak or a really loud injector, or maybe a pulley bearing failing.
I'd like to see a pic of the cam. He said it wasn't bad. Mine was pretty quiet too despite how much metal was gone.
It was starting to loose 2 lobes, but only one lifter was making noise. The rest all looked fine. Just glad I caught it and flushed it all out, and saved the truck.

or....just keep all of them....we all would wish that, but you have to be grown up about having trucks...I think...
You're starting to sound like my wife, and the insurance guy. Both are telling me I have to de-clutter. Sad day in my backyard! I did find a nice looking CCLB Dually I am trying to swing. I think it's fair to replace all the scrap metal/clutter with a completed working chunk of metal!
I wish I could keep it, but I would have zero use for it. I only use the big truck once a month on average.
