Yes! I really do love the factory look. A funny story though. I had so much stuff laying in my garage floor that I overlooked the factory harness adapter and had already hacked into the factory harness and soldered the Retrosound wires to it before I found it. I wondered why they didn’t send one.I won't bother to post pics of my Retro Sound install as it looks just like yours, interior color and all.
I don't need all the extras that the M2 and M4 have so I installed the M1. Just got through with it. Sitting here at home it looks and sounds great.
Part of the reason I bought from Crutchfield is the radio comes with a wiring harness adapter so I don't have to hack up the factory harness. I normally just crimp connections but this time I actually soldered and heat shrinked them for a tight connection.
The reason I chose the Santa Cruz model is because it is made to fit in the OG location and at first glance no one would notice it's not the OG radio. It's in easy reach and I can read the display without my glasses and no tiny remote control to use. So far it's all good.
I saw an Eric the car guy video of his Santa Cruz install and he did the same thing. He found that adapter after he had all wires cut and spliced up. I have always hated cut and modified OE wires but that's just me. I could possibly be OC.Yes! I really do love the factory look. A funny story though. Oh, I was certainly not happy. I would’ve definitely used the harness had I seen it. I teach physics, so there’s definitely a right way to do things. Cutting a factory harness is not it. Yes you can change colors. There’s preset colors and you can also play with the color levels for a custom display color. I adjusted mine a little to match the AC colors better after my pic was taken. Can you change the color of the LCD? The retrosound website shows white and your pictures show green.
