If it has already had a fluid 'n' filter change, and it's that screwed-up only when warm/hot...I think it's gonna need serious work.

MAYBE if it was screwed-up all the time you might find a bum Governor was interfering with the shifting. But if it's only doing this when warm, I'm suspecting pump problems, or leakpoints that cause erratic operation.

But I'm not the transmission guru here.

Ok I kinda wondered if it was going to be a serious issue, but thankfully this isn't the daily and I'm not worried too much about it ha ha!

I plan/have been planing for the last 500 years, to swap an LS into my C1500. I'm bouncing back and forth about using my 700R4 or going to a 4L60E. The engine is a DBW if that makes a difference. Engine will be stock except for maybe an optimization of the tuning. Are there any caveats with a high mileage (200Kish) trans except for a possible rebuild? My 700 was rebuilt "sometime" before I bought the truck and it does all it's supposed to do without complaint. Thanks!!

Hi Ken, why would you install a 200k mile 4L60E without going through it? At 200k you're building in re-work for when it fails shortly after you get the truck on the road with your new engine.

I'd look for a 4L65E as a core and rebuild it. The 4L65E has several upgrades from the factory compared to the 4L60E. You can also run your 700R4 with an adaptor for mating it to the LS engine; you'll need a bracket for the TV cable however; Bowtie Overdrives will likely have one.

I was not clear so my fault. I wanted to know if the case itself would suffer any issues in a high mileage transmission that may deem it not serviceable. I already have the computer, throttle peddle and TAC module for a 60E. Going with my current 700R4 would just save me a little cash. Thanks for your reply!!
