Anybody have an OBS with the Detroit Diesel? What kind of turbo setups are you running.
    I have a garrett into a Banks.
Looking to rebuild this entire engine sometime this winter or next spring. The truck is going to be sitting over the winter months. After that I will have my hoist in state. Junking the truck along with selling any parts anybody needs besides my th400 and 6.2
Looking at where people go for good upgrade parts on these bad boys

Mine is not an OBS, but I have an 84 GMC that was delivered to the first owner with one of the very first Banks kits. I am the 4th owner, have known the truck since day one, know the selling dealer well etc.

Truck is 1/2t 4wd, with 3.42 gears and averages 21-24 mpg w/o overdrive. I’m swapping out the 465 for an NV4500 and plan to turn it back into my daily driver.

I did buy a 93 CC DRW truck in 94 that was a turbo 6.5 NV4500 truck. Also in 95, dad bought a new 3500HD with 6.5/NV4500 fora crew service truck. That truck had a bunch of DS4 pump issues and in 2000 I put a Cummins in it for him

While no power houses, I like the GM diesel, especially for mileage

ive got a 95 with a 6.5. My turbo set up is stock and don't really plan on changing that. As for upgrade places there are a few that I know of. Some of them are tailored toward the 6.5 platform but it is a place to start. Also you might check out https://www.dieselplace.com/forum/ there is alot of info there.

I don't know for sure. Mine looks like it says a 1 on the tag. You can find out by looking at the tag on the turbo. It is on the front of it. Here is a couple pics of where and what it looks like. 20191014_173540.jpg 20191014_173544.jpg
