Was he really checking the oil level while it was running? Come on, he didn't just keep adding oil did he? If you overfill the crankcase, the crank will create oil foam. Oil foam will not provide lubrication.

Yep. Told me himself. Told him that was a BIG no no and had to explain to him WHY it was a Big NO NO. UGH.
