As most of you guys know I've been collecting parts for a little while now. Something you might not know is why. Ok yea I love cars but there's more purpose than that. I'm hoping to use the truck as a ministry tool. While building it I plan on having some guys from my church's youth group come help me out. Most of them are from underprivileged homes and can't afford cars for them to have a job and/or they don't have a positive male role model in their lives. So it's important to me to spend some time with these guys during this.

That's about it right now. If you guys have suggestions throw em out and I'll update/change this list. Thanks for reading.

Thought you guys might like to see the evolution of my SS. Still got a ways to go, but she's gettin there.

This is her when she first got home. Nothin done cept exhaust and a horrible lookin fiberglass cowl hood, and billet grill. Soon to change. Check out that mileage, and that interior.

Next up is to do somethin about that 90's throwback roll pan. The tailights are shaved so I can't just take it off. Threw some tint on em to atleast make it look a little cleaner. I think I will eventually go to a smooth roll pan with nothing but a Fire and Ice strip for tailights, I'm sure the cops are gonna love that. have some better pics later

Next up was that grill in the front. And since I got the VHT Nightshades out, might as well darken up those corner lights too. Also did a good polish on that hood and the rest of the truck, as you can see.

So that was it for a while. Then I found out I was gettin deployed again so I started puttin together a build thread. I'm not gonna spoil to much, but these next few post are me startin to head in that direction. The pictures are a little more organized after this point.

Here's some new valve covers, need some updated pics of them but they are off the truck right now, explained in a later post. Anyway, the important part, pictures.

Well while I had it tore down that far I decided I'd clean up that wiring a little bit. Heres that...

In this pic you can see the hose I wrapped everything in, looks way better than that wire loom IMO.

454SSguy Build Thread

Now on to the tranny and oil cooler. The oil cooler is an extra as I still use the one in the new radiator (pics next post) and runs through a thermostat first. You can see it in some of the pics just inside the engine compartment. The tranny cooler will be rendered useless about 1 month after I get home and do the T-56 swap, lol. I think I will turn it into an aftermarket Power Steering cooler, factory one is long skinny vertical cooler on right. Mostly because it looks cool having them symmetrical. My awesome wife can be seen in a couple of these pics, and yes she really did build some of those lines and not one leaked.

Next up is the New radiator. I got them from a parts guy on the 454ss.com site. He gets us really good stuff at a pretty good price. For my setup I ran an aluminum 4 core with tranny and oil coolers ( I know I have two of each), with a High Flow waterpump (chrome btw) and two 16 Electric fans. Not any good pics with it mounted but you get the idea.

Good shot of the welds on the tanks, quality stuff. More info on why I need such a nice cooling system later :)

Well I hit a little snag right before I left. I alluded to this earlier. Apperently I have no idea how to set valve lash, lol. Well when I figurd it out I was doing a test run and it spit a lifter out into the valley so yea, lol.
